Who we are

Altic Consult Ltd (“Altic Consult”, “we”, “us”) is a tax, accounting and business advisory firm with its head office at Park Place Business Center, 2nd Floor, Second Parklands Avenue (off Limuru Road), Nairobi, Kenya. For the personal data described in this policy, we are the data controller within the meaning of the Data Protection Act, 2019.

The information we collect

  • Enquiry form: your name, email address and message, plus your phone number and company name if you choose to provide them, and the reason you select for the enquiry.
  • Bookings: if you book a consultation through the Calendly scheduler on our contact page, Calendly collects your name, email address, the time you choose and anything you add to the booking notes, and shares the booking details with us.
  • Correspondence: the contents of emails, calls and WhatsApp messages you exchange with us.
  • Technical data: our hosting provider keeps standard server logs (such as IP address, request time and browser type) for security and operations.
  • Preferences: your display theme and your cookie consent choice are stored in your own browser (localStorage) and are not transmitted to us.

We do not run analytics or advertising tracking on this website at this time.

How we use your data and our lawful basis

  • To respond to your enquiry and provide the information or consultation you asked for (your consent, and steps taken at your request before entering a contract).
  • To schedule and hold consultations you book (steps taken at your request before entering a contract).
  • To operate, secure and improve this website (our legitimate interests in running a safe, reliable service).
  • To meet legal and regulatory obligations that apply to us as a professional services firm (legal obligation).

We do not sell personal data, and we do not use it for automated decision-making that produces legal or similarly significant effects.

Who processes data for us

  • Resend (email delivery): delivers enquiry notifications to our team inbox and the confirmation email you receive after submitting the form.
  • Calendly (scheduling): provides the booking widget on our contact page and processes the details of consultations you book.
  • Google Maps: provides the embedded map of our head office on the contact page. The map, like the Calendly widget, only loads after you allow embeds or choose to load it.
  • Our web hosting provider: serves this website and keeps the technical logs described above.

Some of these providers process data on servers outside Kenya. Where personal data is transferred out of Kenya we rely on the safeguards contemplated by sections 48 and 49 of the Data Protection Act, 2019, including transfers to jurisdictions with appropriate data protection safeguards.

Cookies and similar technologies

This website itself sets no tracking cookies. Your preferences are kept in your own browser, and third-party embeds that set their own cookies load only after you allow them. Our Cookie Policy explains the details and how to change your choice at any time.

How long we keep your data

  • Enquiry correspondence: kept for as long as needed to handle your enquiry, and for 12 months afterwards in case you follow up, unless an engagement follows.
  • Client engagement records: kept for the periods required by Kenyan tax and professional-practice law.
  • Technical logs: kept by our hosting provider for its standard rotation period.

Your rights

The Data Protection Act, 2019 gives you the right to:

  • be informed about how we use your personal data;
  • access the personal data we hold about you;
  • have inaccurate data corrected without undue delay;
  • have your data deleted where we no longer have a lawful basis to keep it;
  • object to, or ask us to restrict, processing of your data;
  • receive your data in a portable format where applicable; and
  • withdraw any consent you gave us, at any time.

To exercise any of these rights, email info@alticconsult.com with your request. We will verify your identity and respond within the timelines set by the Act.

Complaints

If you are not satisfied with how we handle your personal data or a rights request, you may lodge a complaint with the Office of the Data Protection Commissioner (ODPC), Kenya's data protection regulator, at www.odpc.go.ke.

Security

We apply appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect personal data, including encrypted connections to this website (HTTPS), access-controlled mailboxes, and collecting only the data we need to respond to you.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The current version, with its effective date, will always be published on this page.
